The Ark of Safety LGBTQ+ Safe Haven was founded in 2021 out of a lack of housing resources in Philadelphia. Our mission to provide inclusive and gender-affirming emergency housing for LGBTQ+ identities who are facing housing insecurity in Philadelphia. We believe that, by using a faith-based approach by providing a trauma-informed space, the Ark of Safety can improve the living conditions of homeless LGBTQ+ individuals prioritizing Transwomen of color who are most effected by Homeless and housing insecurities.
